Expedition Success!

Just under four weeks in one of the most remote locations in Africa.

Twenty one nights sleeping under the stars.

Temperatures averaging between 40 and 50 degrees.

Drinking 8 litres of water ever day, constantly battling to keep hydrated, peeing champagne.

Spiders the size of a mans hand on our kit.

Scorpions the size of mobile phones adorning our camp.

The Expedition to the Danakil Depression, Ethiopia - the hottest location on the planet - was a test to human, vehicle and equipment. Our team were stretched and pushed to the very limits of their physical limits and professional ability, yet they still found humor in the face of adversity. It was a privilege to be part of an expedition team (95% Expedition Media members) that well and truly proved their metal as one of the best. Despite sickness, corrupt negotiations over camels and endless logistical nightmares, ALL stuck together, got their heads down and achieved what I am confident will prove to be a television series to be immensely proud of!

Many thanks to Lion TV, BBC and US Discovery and all my team members!

Have a very merry Christmas - and enjoy the cold weather!
