The end of the first year of the website is fast approaching and already members are renewing their membership for a further 12 months. The prices haven't change but the site is being updated to refresh the homepage, renew the about us page and add a whole new selection of features such as Travel Kit Guides for four main environments which can be downloaded, global map of locations members are or have worked in and specialist kit listing for members only. Expedition Media continues to provide an interactive service to it's members and always encourages them to keep their profiles up to date and post blogs to let everyone know what they are up to.
Mungo is soon to be heading off on an epic journey from Ireland to Sydney Australia with the Long Way Down team, for a new series called 'By any means'. The estimated journey time is four months and Mungo is set to have the adventure of a lifetime. He is having a farewell drink this Saturday 5th April at The East Hill pub (on Alma Road) in Wandsworth from 7.30pm onwards. We wish him and the production the very best of luck and come home safe!

Expedition Media member Rupert Smith heads off to Hollywood today to join his wife Claire, working in LA. Rupert is a valued member of Expedition Media and is well known for heading up many an epic productionas a Series Director/ Producer including Escape to the Legion, The Search and the most recent project for the BBC filmed in the Danakil Depression. We wish him all the best and hope to see him again soon, no doubt in another tough adventurous location. Enjoy the surf and sun Big Monkey.
Expedition Media welcomes the Frontline Club as it's latest Training Facility member. Courses will be listed on the site with direct links to booking. Frontline Video Training offers a variety of courses - each one specifically developed to support the increasing demands on journalists and media workers - both newcomers and those more established - to become multi-skilled and technically savvy in today's media industry. Shooting, Editing with Final Cut Pro, Blogging and beyond, Lighting for Video, and Solo Video Journalism - a comprehensive course, entirely unique to Frontline, that teaches the various elements and skills needed to work alone in the field (combining shooting, editing, writing for video and publishing video online). Frontline trainers are drawn from within our membership - all professionals with huge experience in the field. This ensures that our courses are taught by individuals who understand all the elements of programme making, whether it be newsgathering, documentary or feature filmmaking. Classes are open to everyone, with or without journalistic experience. Our courses run throughout the year, with foundation and intermediate levels available in shooting, editing and Solo Video Journalism. Held in our dedicated training room at the Frontline Club in central London, every course is restricted to a maximum of eight participants.
