This month sees the arrival of new Wanderlust subscriptions for Expedition Media members. This award winning magazine for adventure travel, is a well established and respected publication. Expedition Media hopes to establish a strong bond with Wanderlust and to include reports from filming projects around the world.
Bear Grylls has successfully flown a powered paraglider to new record heights over the Himalayas. This amazing story was captured on film by Simon Raey (Cameraman) and Pete Lee (Sound Recordist), who are also Expedition Media Members. As a team with GKN they have raised over a million dollars for some of the world\'s most needy children.
This Showcase will be of specific value to organisations and individualswho are tasked with the responsibility for employers Health and Safety whilst working abroad. The event will represent a unique opportunity for those responsible, to develop a better understanding of their legal obligations, and the services available to assist them, when organising or managing an expedition, charity work or television production overseas. Invitees include prominent media organisations, industry and academic institutions. Expedition Media has been given a significant boost for the campaign to get the site well known within the industry. Petra Hirst, Manager of the International Advice department has posted a link for the site on the IFA April Bulletin which is then sent out around the BBC. Various other production companies and broadcasters are looking into ways of helping to push Expedition Media.
Last night we saw over 80 people come to celebrate the launch of Expedition Media. Situated on the Roof Deck at Soho House, the night was a roaring success as Members, Press and Production Company representatives mingled and conversed into the early hours of this am. Many faces were put to names, and lots of strategic contacts were made for the future. Many thanks to all those who attended.
